• Reporting to the Director, Corporate Affairs, the Manager, Corporate Affairs is responsible for leading the development of national communications campaigns for Walmart Canada. Accountable for securing national media coverage by identifying opportunities, leading campaigns while managing risk.

  
  What you'll do...

  • Secure national media coverage in various media outlets across the country
  • Develop new relationships with new media
  • Pro-actively create plans to support local initiatives
  • Manage local media relations (pro-actively and re-actively)
  • Create process and systems to coordinate local story telling  
  • Educate and train fellow team members on best in class social media use
  • Stay up-to-date with current media trends
  • Regularly contribute to communication plans with ideas for local content
  • Engage in daily media listening to monitor industry news, trends, competitor activity

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of strong experience developing and executing media and external communications campaigns.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships across the company

• Succeed in an agile, fast-paced environment
• Superior judgement and strong storytelling skills, leverage various communications channels
