Communications Officer
PASS Grade 5 $78,601 to $88,466

Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Community Engagement, the Communications Officer is responsible for developing comprehensive communication plans for Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board which includes research, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide advice, conceptualize, formulate, and implement communication strategies and programs to strengthen relationships between the Board, its employees, parents/guardians/caregivers, and partners
- Take a proactive position with media, staff, community groups, and Board representatives while preparing written communication such as media releases, articles, publications (digital and print), speeches, and presentations
- Support schools and respond to issues, concerns and information needs through direct contact with groups or written communications
- Utilize various digital platforms for the purpose of clear communications
- Contribute to social media and coordinate content for Board websites
