The past year has been one of significant change, with the pandemic itself and the domino effect it has had on our work and personal lives. For many organizations, lost revenue has meant major restructuring. Remote work has triggered a new way of conducting business and building relationships. Many communicators have experienced layoffs, isolation from our loved ones and high expectations for crisis message delivery.

In this PD session, we’ll explore:

Heather-Newton.jpegHeather Newton has worked in the post-secondary sector for 20 years, gaining experience in stakeholder relations, campaign development, project management, and strategic leadership. As an award-winning marketing and communications professional, she is passionate about finding creative solutions that connect and engage audiences. Currently, she is the Executive Director, Communications for the Service Excellence Transformation (SET) program at the U of A, where she is part of a team that is working to transform the university’s administrative operating model and culture.

Megan-McDougald.jpegMegan McDougald has worked at the University of Alberta since 2010 in a variety of roles focusing on strategic and transformational change. Currently, she works as the Change Management Lead for the Service Excellence Transformation (SET) program. Prior to the U of A, she was a management consultant and worked extensively with private and public sector organizations across Canada, United States, Australia and the United Kingdom. She has a PhD in Business (Strategic Management and Organization), a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and a BSHEc (Family and Consumer Studies). In addition, she is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) with the Canadian Association of Management Consultants and a Certified Change Management Professional.
