In honour of our 60th anniversary,  and to recognize of all the professionals who came before us to establish our society as one of the oldest and most respected in Canada, CPRS Calgary wants to give back to the community by donating 60 hours of strategic communications and counsel to Calgary Reads, a not-for-profit organization.

Join us  by donating your professional skills to support Calgary Reads. Volunteering will take place at Calgary Read’s ‘Children’s Reading Place’ in Inglewood from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on May 25 and 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on May 26. Calgary.

Calgary Reads has identified five priority areas where CPRS can help:

  • Celebrating its 20th anniversary of literacy programming in Calgary
  • Creating a story bank to build organizational and literacy awareness
  • Leveraging its upcoming capital fundraising campaign
  • Launching designated reading tents that are sold with proceeds supporting operating costs
  • Developing infographics that share the Calgary Reads story and literacy statistics

This volunteer opportunity is for professionals and students alike, and is our collective chance to give back to the community where we live and work. If you are interested in volunteering please click on THIS LINK and let us know of your availability. The volunteer shifts are:

  • 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25
  • 10:00 a.m. – noon Sunday, May 26
  • Noon – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 26
